Dead of Winter

Words and Music by Brian Griffin (1-20-95)

Looking for a sign of life in the dead of winter
The sky is battleship grey
It’s been that way for days
In my bed I lay
Trapped by the dead of winter

I can’t draw
I can’t write
I complain that I never get the time
But when I do I just sit numb-
In the dead of winter

Things will get better
I hang my hopes on that
The sun will break through the dome of clouds
It’s a matter of fact
The time will come, the ice will melt
Life will spring from the frozen grouund
But til  then-
I ‘m mopin’-Barely coping
Though the dead of winter
