Fame and Fortune

Fame and Fortune

Words and Music by Brian Griffin (3-16-07)

Well I’ve been singing for many a year
Playing my songs for whoever will hear
Singing about the world and it’s woes
Won’t get me a fancy house and car I suppose
(there’s one thing that I know)

No there won’t be fame and fortune for me
A life of renowned is something I won’t see
Somebody else will get an answer to their dream
But there won’t be any fame and fortune for me

See all the Idols on the TV screen
Trying anything to be heard and be seen
A life of riches they hope they will find
They haven’t learned yet what I’ve learned over time

(Chorus)
Solo

Look at the big star with the world in their hands
While I’m counting my days away playing one night stands
They fly around in their private planes
And let their whole life get washed down the drain

One day they will die but their fame doesn’t end
They just become more famous again
Maybe I should just bide my time
Maybe after I’m dead and gone I’ll find

There will finally be fame and fortune for me
Though I won’t be around to see
All of the people who will idolize ME
A life of fame and fortune is not for me
I’ll live in obscurity
Fame and fortune is something I’ll never see
