Going along the path you blazed
Heading-towards the end of the journey
Trying not to stray and lose my way
First heard about you from the Clash
They sang a verse from one of your songs
They gave you the credit you were due
And planted a seed in me that grew
Later I read your story in the Lantern
Marking the 10th year since your death
Said you felt that the songs have left you
And you couldn’t take another step
And I am- marching in your footsteps

Over the years I read all I could about you
Watched the videos and listened to your songs
It always breaks my heart when I get to the part
When you felt you couldn’t go on
Now many years have passed since that day
and you are no longer here with us
But your message lives on and grows
In all of the people that you touched
And We all are- Marching in your footsteps
Taking your words and music to the streets
The world is still worth saving
spreading the news to all we meet

Your words are still full of power
