There You Are

Words and Music by Brian Griffin (11-22-06)

The world surrounds me
Circles me like a shark smelling blood
Whirlpool vortex tries to pull me under
Drowning in the flood
When the time feels like it’s the last
I’ve fallen down too far
There’s a voice calling out my name
I look and there you are

I’m tearing myself down again
I’m a one-man wrecking crew
Nothing I do is ever good enough
And what I do is known by too few
I feel that defeat is winning
I feel that all I ever do is lose
Then I look up and see a hand reaching towards me
I look up and I see you

When I find myself beaten and racked with stupid fears
You have a way of making them all disappear
You know how to comfort me
You give me the things I need

I’m crashing again
I’m falling into the well
Walls so steep I can’t climb out
I’m in a living hell
The darkness has almost consumed me
I’m given up for lost
Then I’m pulled back from the pit
I’m saved and there you are
There you are
There you are
When my life gets too hard
There you are
